Senior High Journey

Hi, My name is Edward Joshua M. Bocalan. Grade 11 Automotive Senior High School student from LemSeHi.

I felt sad when I was included in thousands of students who was included to take another 2 years in high school Was it for real?

SHS program of Deped seems to be hard at first, there were struggles. It cause burdens to many who likes to earn money after high school. As it continues, it has a great effect on the quality of education. It offers a lot of opportunity to grow as a student and as an adult who would like to try get a job after high school. It has been a while and some of the senior high finishers find college easy at this point that they were able to study some topics already.

Being a LemSeHian gave me a wider horizon to improve myself. Though I am an average student, I felt i belong. I enjoyed being a grade 11. Although there were hardships during the first semester, our class did it. I would like to pursue a college degree and I hope that the Strand I choose will allow me to.

As an Automotive Student who dreams to be an engineer in the future, the topics and lessons tackled made my interest in cars grow even more. I learned a lot and I can say even after high school, I can apply the knowledge in my everyday life. But, some says the track I chose won’t allow me to take the course I Want in college. How can I pursue my dreams if that so? Did it blocked common students like me who wasn’t able to pass the STEM strand? How can I be an engineer?

There were lots of struggles, the environment at first. The lack of facilities that didn’t comply our strand. It’s very different from junior high that we just took things easy. The transition was very difficult. I was able to cope because I got teachers and educators who give as a lot of learnings. It would not be easy at first but you can always do if you believe you can.
